The Musée de Minéralogie Mines Paris - PSL and the Fonds de Dotation Verrecchia are delighted to announce the opening of the exhibition "Romance in the Stone: De la Roche à l'OEuvre" ("Romance in the Stone: from the Rock to the Artpiece"). This exceptional exhibition will run from October 23 to December 14, 2024, and features a dialogue between contemporary artistic creations and the museum's exceptional mineral collection.
Preserved in its historic 19th-century setting, each year the museum enriches its program with temporary exhibitions that take a contemporary scientific, cultural and artistic look at the mineral kingdom.
"Romance in the Stone: De la Roche à l'OEuvre" brings together the winners of the Matière(s) Grant from the Verrecchia Endowment Fund, whose work directly resonates with the museum's mineral collection in terms of color, form and materiality.
Through their singular languages, the creative and narrative potential of this raw and complex material is revealed, as much as its narrative and emotional power.
